The iPhone 13 series, released in 2021, remains one of the most widely owned iPhone generations in Australia. Three years in, the cohort of 13 owners needing battery replacements is large — Apple's own battery health data shows lithium cells typically reach 80% capacity after 500–800 full charge cycles, and a daily iPhone user hits that in 2–3 years. If your iPhone 13's charge doesn't last a full day any more, a battery replacement is the fix.
At STS Roxburgh Park, we repair all four iPhone 13 models: the mini (Apple's last small iPhone), the standard 13, the 13 Pro (first iPhone with ProMotion 120Hz), and the 13 Pro Max. Apple-certified technicians, OEM-specification parts, and a 6-month warranty on all repairs.
iPhone 13 screen repairs use Super Retina XDR OLED panels — the same excellent OLED technology Apple uses in the Pro line, covering all four 13 series models. The 13 mini uses a 5.4-inch panel, the standard 13 a 6.1-inch, the 13 Pro a 6.1-inch ProMotion panel, and the 13 Pro Max a 6.7-inch ProMotion. The ProMotion panels on the Pro and Pro Max are distinct from the standard OLED panels — they require correctly-specified 120Hz replacement screens to maintain ProMotion function.
The iPhone 13 mini is worth a specific mention. Apple stopped making small iPhones after the 13 mini — no iPhone 14 mini or 15 mini exists. For users who genuinely prefer a phone that fits in a pocket without folding, the 13 mini is the last Apple option. Keeping it repaired is therefore more valuable than on other models where upgrade paths are straightforward. We treat 13 mini repairs with the care they deserve.
Lightning charging port repair is relevant on all iPhone 13 models — the 13 series all use Lightning (Apple switched to USB-C two years later with iPhone 15). After 3 years of daily charging, Lightning connectors accumulate lint and wear. Most Lightning port faults are the physical port, not the logic board — a port replacement from $79 resolves most charging issues.
Battery replacement is the most-requested iPhone 13 service at this point in the product lifecycle. The iPhone 13 Pro Max has a 4,352mAh cell — at 80% health that means 3,481mAh effective capacity, which translates to a phone that lasted 12 hours now lasting about 9.5. A fresh cell restores the full 12+ hours, often making the phone feel dramatically faster (thermal throttling from poor battery health affects performance too).
