The iPhone 16 series is Apple's latest flagship — introducing the new Camera Control button, a more capable 48MP main camera on all models, and the A18/A18 Pro chip with Apple Intelligence support. For the 16 Pro and Pro Max, ProMotion adaptive OLED brings desktop-class display quality to a 6.3–6.9 inch pocket screen. At $1,399–$2,199, an iPhone 16 is absolutely worth repairing rather than replacing when it's damaged.
At STS Roxburgh Park, we repair all four iPhone 16 models: iPhone 16, iPhone 16 Plus, iPhone 16 Pro, and iPhone 16 Pro Max. Our Apple-certified technicians handle the series' new hardware features — Camera Control, USB-C, and ProMotion OLED — with the precision the 16 series demands.
iPhone 16 screen repairs are OLED replacements across all four models. The iPhone 16 and 16 Plus use Apple's standard Super Retina XDR OLED — the same excellent panel quality as the iPhone 15 and 14. The 16 Pro and 16 Pro Max step up to ProMotion OLED with dynamic 1–120Hz refresh, always-on display capability, and a titanium frame that's both more durable and harder to separate during repair than the aluminium frames of the standard models. All OLED panels must be genuine-specification to maintain True Tone, Face ID calibration, and ProMotion refresh — we use OLED that preserves these features.
The Camera Control is the iPhone 16's signature new hardware feature — a capacitive, pressure-sensitive button on the lower right edge that controls the camera with swipes, taps, and holds. If Camera Control becomes unresponsive or triggers intermittently, it's typically a flex cable issue or connector fault. We assess Camera Control as part of the standard diagnostic process.
Battery replacement on iPhone 16 models takes advantage of Apple's new electrically-assisted battery removal — a small electrical charge releases the adhesive holding the battery in place, reducing the force needed and the risk of display damage during battery service. All iPhone 16 batteries from $89. Apple Intelligence features and camera processing are power-intensive, so iPhone 16 batteries cycle harder than previous generations on users who heavily use AI features.
USB-C port repair on iPhone 16 is a new category compared to previous iPhones. The iPhone 16 uses USB-C (replacing Lightning) with USB 3 speeds on Pro models. USB-C port wear can occur on phones used with multiple cable types — we repair at the board level from $79.
Face ID repair on iPhone 16 involves the TrueDepth camera system — an infrared projector and camera array housed in the Dynamic Island pill cutout. Face ID faults after a screen replacement are sometimes solvable by proper panel calibration; hardware Face ID faults require component-level access and assessment.
