The LG Gram is one of the most remarkable laptops on the market — sub-kilogram weight, MIL-STD-810G military certification for durability, and a battery that outlasts almost everything in its class. At $1,800–$2,500, it's a premium investment worth repairing rather than replacing.
At STS Roxburgh Park, we repair the full LG Gram range: Gram 14 (14Z90S, 14Z90R), Gram 16 (16Z90S, 16Z90R), Gram 17 (17Z90S), Gram 2-in-1 (14T90S, 16T90S), Gram Style (16Z90RS OLED), and older Gram models. LG Gram laptops are well-engineered and repairable — the light magnesium chassis gives access without needing excessive force.
LG Gram screen replacements require the correct panel for each specific model. The Gram 14 and Gram 16 use WUXGA (1920×1200 or 2560×1600) IPS panels — the 16:10 aspect ratio is one of the Gram's defining productivity features, giving more vertical space than 16:9 alternatives. These panels start from $159. The Gram 17 uses a larger 2560×1600 IPS panel at 17 inches, which takes slightly longer to source due to its larger size, from $199.
The LG Gram Style is LG's premium ultrabook — it uses a 2560×1600 OLED display at 16 inches, which is thinner and lighter than an equivalent IPS and delivers the vivid colour accuracy that serious photographers and designers expect. OLED Gram Style screen replacement starts from $249. LG provides excellent panel specifications but the components themselves are high-quality display-grade OLED — sourcing takes 2–3 days.
Battery service is particularly worthwhile on the LG Gram. The Gram's enormous battery capacity (72–80Wh on most models) is what enables its class-leading battery life. By year 3 on a commuting user who regularly cycles the battery, capacity has degraded noticeably — a replacement restores the 18–22 hour rating and makes the Gram practical for a full day away from the charger again.
Hinge repair on Gram 2-in-1 models (14T and 16T) is periodic work we see as the convertible mechanism ages. The 360-degree hinge is well-made but eventually develops play. We repair or replace hinges from $99 and verify smooth, even movement before returning the laptop.
